Master Talk: Rafe Haneef

Mr. Rafe Haneef is a seasoned Islamic finance leader with over 25 years of experience across global financial hubs including London, Dubai, and Kuala Lumpur. He currently serves as Group CEO of MBSB Holdings, overseeing MBSB Bank and MIDF Group. He has held senior roles at CIMB, HSBC Amanah, ABN Amro, Fajr Capital, and Citigroup. A pioneer in sustainable finance, he played a key role in initiatives like Bank Negara Malaysia’s VBI and UNEP-FI’s Principles for Responsible Banking. Mr. Rafe holds a law degree from IIUM and an LL.M from Harvard Law School, and is qualified to practice law in Malaysia and New York.
