Islamic economics is the knowledge and application of injunctions and rules of the Shariah (Islamic law) that prevent injustice in the acquisition and disposal of material resources. It enables human beings to perform their obligations to Allah and society. The Quran states, “To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth.” (Al Quran 2:284). Islamic Economics neither recognizes nor appreciates illicit means of acquiring, utilizing, and distributing wealth. It emphasizes that wealth should not be concentrated in a few hands, leading to monopoly and economic imbalance. The fundamental goal is to ensure justice, equity, and ethical financial practices in economic transactions.
